Since the business was established in 1845 Robert Mackie of Scotland has been making traditional Scottish bonnets in the Ayrshire town of Stewarton, a place still known to this day as “bonnet toun”.

The tradition of bonnet making in this wee town can be traced back for over 400 years, but today Robert Mackie of Scotland is the last remaining business in the town, making high quality traditional Scottish bonnets (Balmorals and Glengarries) that they supply to Scottish regiments, Pipe bands and Clan Associations throughout the world which they have done for many years.
